Junior Youth
Welcome to LAO’s Jr. Youth:
A national Christian Network providing children between the
ages of 10 and 14 years old (but not in high school) of the
LCMS and their families with a mechanism to develop Christian
Friendships within and outside their home congregation.
Every Christian Family is faced with similar demands of
their time and resources. How we as Christian Parents
prioritize these demands greatly impacts our ability to influence
our children Proverbs 22:6. What
we genuinely hold as important (where we invest our time,
talents and treasures) Matthew 6:21 generally
becomes important to our children. If our faith is
an integral part of our everyday life, be it work, rest or
play, than with the LORD’s blessing, it will remain
vital to our children Deuteronomy 6:6-9.
So, how can we apply this Biblical Guidance in the leisure
activities our Jr. Youth? Encourage them and provide
them with an environment that builds and encourages their
Christian walk rather than compromise it.
But my home congregation does not have many Jr. Youth or
the Jr. Youth from my home congregation does not have the
same interests as my children.
LAO wants to provide you with the
opportunity to connect with other Lutheran Families of Jr.
Youth (within your Circuit, District or nationally) with
similar interests and to:
- Bring glory to God 1 Corinthians 10:31
- Walk in Love Ephesians 5: 1-7 ,
Light Ephesians 5: 8-13 & Wisdom Ephesians
5: 14-20
- Be Salt and Light to the world Matthew 5:13-15
It is our hope and prayer that LAO will
become a resource that will enable your home congregation to
maintain their identity and mission in the community they serve
while allowing You and the other members of your congregation
the ability to build relationships and engage in activities,
outings, retreats, etc. that any one parish would be otherwise
be unable to accomplish. |
